Drummonds Steak House - Fife

We arrived at the restaurant in the late afternoon on a Friday and were promptly seated at a table of our choice. Our drinks and starters arrived quickly. My wife ordered the prawn cocktail, and I had the haggis and mushrooms, both of which were delicious. Our main courses were served without any delay; I chose the special cod dish and my wife opted for the traditional steak pie. The meals were satisfying, and the portion of chips and vegetables was generous. The total cost for starters and mains was £16 per person. Our drinks, a brandy lemonade and a large house wine, totaled just over £10. The bill for our two-course meal for two, including drinks, came to £42.30. The service was efficient, quick, and polite. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant.

I rarely write negative reviews, but my recent experience at Drummonds was disappointing. We have been loyal customers for many years and never had any issues before. When we arrived for a meal at 3pm, the front of house staff were pleasant but it seemed like they were understaffed. Our drinks arrived quickly and we placed our orders. The starters came in a reasonable time and were enjoyable. However, we waited a long time for our mains, with the waiter apologizing for the delay. My meal was satisfactory, but the steak pie had a soggy, undercooked crust throughout. When we mentioned this to the waiter, he said the chef claimed it was meant to be like that. We had ordered more drinks, but due to the long wait, we cancelled them before they were served. When we asked for the bill, we noticed that we had been charged for the cancelled drinks. The manager was understanding and removed the charge for the drinks, did not charge us for the steak pie, and gave us a discount on the bill. Despite this, we were disappointed as we usually enjoy dining at Drummonds. We hope that this was just a one-time experience.

We had booked a lunch reservation at a nearby hotel, but upon arrival, we discovered that there was a power outage in the area. We decided to try Drummonds instead and were pleased to find plenty of space available for us. We had a delightful meal with starters, mains, and dessert. Each of the four of us chose a different dish and enjoyed the large but not overwhelming portions of delicious food. The prices were reasonable and we would definitely recommend Drummonds to others.

Came for an Abba tribute night,food was poor quality compared to what was served for the same price at the Rod Stewart tribute night,won't be back,not worth the money

We entered this establishment this morning, around 10.45 on May 2nd, in search of breakfast. The unedifying sight of cigarette ends protruding from the receptacle at the front door almost did for us, but, having been disappointed by our usual breakfast providers, Banners House Hotel supposedly 'closed for maintenance ' we were desperate. Desperate... and about to be disappointed for the second time in close succession. If there were any staff, after 5 minutes they had failed to appear, and a quick search did not uncover them. Perhaps they are unused to customers at this time of day. Perhaps they do not want customers at this time of day. Bear this in mind if you find yourself in Markinch, and hoping for a Full Scottish.
