“Te Berti” is a hidden gem on in the Fier region of Albania. If you’re visiting Apollonia or the beaches near Fier(Seman, Darzese) you must eat at Berti’s. Locally sourced fare made by someone who is from the region and knows how to bring out the flavors of his home.8 of us went for dinner. The food came out fast and was eaten just as fast. The table bread, kulaç, was warm, crusty, and delicious. The mushroom penne was one of the highlights for me. It had a balanced mushroom flavor along with the spices and sauce. The beef in a au jus was also a favorite. The au jus particularly reminded me of my mom’s cooking. Lastly, the lamb was tender and salted well with a nice crispy skin.The prices are a bargain for the quality of the food and the dedication that’s present in the rich flavors of the dishes.
