There's a manager there who is so attentive, seems gentle with staff and has a great personality every time I have been no matter when he's there and putting in the effort. The staff seem to pick up on this and radiate the same politeness and care. The whole ambience is a pretty chill and mellow vibe, I would say casual even based off the location but it works so well, feeling like a comforting meal with family and friends, such good quality and the taste is what really pushes it over the edge. I can't believe they have any bad reviews, now after a while of being off the ground they have done nothing but amaze me and I can't wait to go back!
We ordered the miso ramen, tonkotsu ramen and chicken katsu rice, as well as the karaage chicken and takoyaki side dishes. The ramen tasted pretty good, would order again if I can come back to this restaurant. The chicken katsu was so-so, but definitely preferred the karaage chicken over it. The takoyaki was absolutely delicious, the price is okay I guess at $5.90 considering a lot of other restaurants sell takoyaki for over a dollar per piece, which I think is just not worth it. Service seemed friendly, and waiting time for the food was pretty normal. Shop was also not too crowded (at 4pm).
Kou ramen is my partner and i’s favorite ramen place to go to around the hills district! the tonkotsu ramen and chicken katsu are our go to’s. i’m pretty addicted to their teriyaki sauce which i put over pretty much everything. it’s very helpful that there’s a serve yourself sauces and such table, most places might charge you extra for sauces, mayo and such. the only issues we’ve had is that the eggs in ramen aren’t cooked like they traditionally are in ramen, they are just boiled eggs cut in half. also, the miso soup is okay when it’s just come out hot, but the second it starts to cool down it tastes quite bad.<br/ <br/ the interior is really nice! it’s quite simple and i’ve never seen a dirty table left dirty. i will warn if you go on the days of the live music, it’s played directly outside the restaurant and the restaurant still plays their own music so if you are, or you have children that are sensitive to loud, almost chaotic noise, don’t go on the live band days!
The place is conveniently located in Blacktown Westfield. The service is quick. The spicy pork don was hands down very yummy. Wasn't big fan of Korean fried chicken, I reckon other places (one in Rouse Hill) serve much better fried chicken. Anyways all in all good.
Food and atmosphere is great!! Love coming here and the service is equally as good : would recommend
