Be sure to check your receipt, as if you're charged the wrong price, you can get the item for free thanks to their scanner guarantee. However, the staff may not mention this, and some are unaware of this policy. It’s posted at each checkout counter, typically on the writing ledge. I manage to get something free during every visit!

This Safeway store, at one time many years ago, was my local grocery store and it really hadn?t changed much since my last visit in terms of selection, cleanliness, or customer service. Doesn?t quite offer a NobHill experience, but not many Safeway stores do. Stopped at Safeway in Felton yesterday on the way to Cowell Redwoods State Park. Bathroom was most helpful! Got a combo meal at the deli. The Chicken tenders were the best I have had in years! The seafood salad and ambrosia salad sides were also excellent quality. The server was very kind too. My niece and I were totally impressed by this hidden gem which the locals seem to recognize too. The prices are reasonable, and during the night, the store is usually empty, so you can enjoy a quiet shopping experience. Around 5 AM, people heading to work often stop by to pick up their lunch, as they have healthy, freshly prepared meals available. The restrooms are clean, and the marble floors are extremely shiny.

It's a grocery store, so there aren't many strong opinions to have—either positive or negative. The lines can get quite long because they often don't have enough cashiers, and it's common for one or more self-checkout machines to be malfunctioning. If you decide to visit, be prepared to have plenty of patience and time, as you’ll likely be waiting for a while.
