Our go-to items include the sweet shrimp (I especially love the fried head), the sexy roll (with a slight modification that sometimes comes with an extra charge), raw scallops, and the spider roll. Personally, I found the seafood pancake at the restaurant delightful, though my husband seemed to prefer it reheated at home in the air fryer. The raw scallops are consistently sweet and the sweet shrimp always impresses me! I could easily make a meal just out of the fried heads! We return a few times a month and love exploring the menu further... Next up is bim bim bop, especially now that the weather is cooling down. The table next to us ordered it, and it smelled amazing!
The Tofu and Sushi House is located on either side of the same restaurant. I make it a point to try every Korean restaurant I come across. We ordered the California roll, which was presented nicely and quite tasty, along with some edamame and a ginger salad. The prices would have been reasonable if the food quality had been better. Our total bill came to $45.90. The sushi rolls were decent, and the edamame and miso soup met my expectations. However, the ginger salad dressing didn't taste fresh or refreshing; it seemed a bit stale. The service was acceptable, but overall, the food was just average.
I'm heartbroken. They've removed the fried fish that used to perfectly complement their renowned soon du boo soup! The rice, which used to come out of a hot stone pot, is now simply served in silver tins, just like everywhere else. While they've made some beautiful updates to the decor, the food no longer matches the lovely ambiance. I'm really disappointed because I would have preferred to pay more to keep what made this place special and unique. My husband, who always orders udon, didn't even finish his meal. The broth tasted instant and lacked depth. I ordered soon du boo and was left extremely disappointed. Additionally, I tried the sushi that was supposed to have salmon and lemon, but it was drizzled with some kind of orange marmalade that wasn't mentioned on the menu. Sweet raw sushi is definitely not my thing. Unless they revert to their traditional recipes, I won’t be returning, even though this restaurant is just minutes away from me.
Yum! If you need some good Korean/Japanese food, this is your place. It 's under the same management as Sushi House (right next door so you can order sushi from the Tofu House side. The prices are pretty average not inexpensive, but it doesn 't break the bank either. The miso soup was really, really good. Not bland like a lot of places! The bulgogi is pretty good, too. I ordered a roll from the Sushi House side, and it took a while to come to the table (maybe 30 minutes? . That may be my only complaint , but I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. It 's located in a strip mall so there 's a parking lot available. Wait staff was very nice! I only noticed one waitress, but it very well could have been the time of day. I 'll be coming back for more!
This has weirdly become a go-to for my family. Only weird because we usually default to Chinese food, but we love tofu house! The caveat would be that we now get the same thing every time because when we've tried other things, it hasn't been to our liking. The seafood pancake is so good! Lots of chunks and perfectly fried, not too greasy or salty. It's chewy and delicious! The other dish we always get is the seafood soon du bu! It's perfectly garlicky and hot and the tofu is soft and flavored by the soup. Plenty of seafood chunks and the stone pot rice that comes with doesn't hurt! This is also the only dish that comes with the fried fish ban chan, which my mom loves. I don't care for it because it's fishy and sometimes it's not crispy. Other things we've tried that have been less good include the spicy squid, a beef noodle soup that was supposed to be spicy but wasn't, bulgogi, and korean sausage and ham hocks platter. To be clear, everything we've had is decent but just doesn't live up to the seafood soon du bu. Service is really hit or miss. We often have more than one server so I'm guessing everyone shares. Usually one is really nice and the other is not haha. We always get our food though.
