Loved this little new place in Farmington. The specialty tea (Karak Tea) and original bun tasted amazing. I'll have to try their specialty buns next time. Decor and service was also great!
Review from last weekend, Jan 21st. Unfortunately I had high expectations after visiting PappaRoti location in Vancouver (Canada). This location is relatively small, with a limited menu, and inconvenient seating options. We ordered a Kaya bun that was great as usual, but the Mediterranean bun was a bit of a letdown. We paired it with an order of herbal mint tea (but they served an oolong tea bag for some reason), and karak chai that was thankfully refreshing and as advertised. That said, it is a good place to drop by and grab a bite if you have tried all other options in the area. Personally, I might not return for another taste at PappaRoti.
My first Malaysian coffee bun and tea were brought to me as a gift at work, on my birthday, and I fell in love. It was a pain bun. A week later, I took my hubby, and we tried the cheese and honey buns and loved them. He wasn't a fan of the tea, so I had his, too! It reminded me of the time I spent in India specifically of the Chai I had in Jaipur, but without the milk skin!
Different from your typical American coffee shop because it is Malaysian. Beside coffee they have tea and horlicks, also coffee buns. If you never tried it before, staff is always eager to help and explain the menu to you, so you have nothing to worry about. Coffee buns, is a perfect circle that has a shell on the outside but soft on the inside. But it is nothing to rave about.
