The Dark Horse Tavern - Farmingdale

The server was fantastic! A perfect representation of a tavern. They offered an amazing variety of beers on tap. The Bloody Mary was excellent, and the Jamison neat was served just right. If you’re visiting this charming town, be sure to make this place a stop!

I would describe this place as a bar that serves good food. It seems they are in the process of updating their decor, and with plenty of TV screens showing sports games featuring balls and pucks, it definitely fits the definition of a sports bar in my opinion. It looked like my companions and I were the only customers there mainly for the food, but the staff was courteous and attentive, ensuring we never felt neglected during our visit. Most restaurants in the area close to new customers by 9 PM, which has been a challenge for us over the years. We come to this region annually for the Greater Long Island Dental Meeting, where some courses run into the evening, limiting our dinner options significantly. So, discovering the Dark Horse Tavern was a pleasant surprise.

I absolutely love the decor! The bar is stunning, and they have a garage door that opens during the summer, which really brings the outdoors in. The bartenders are excellent, and I appreciate the seating at the bar. There are a few TVs too, making it a great spot to relax. It's definitely a lively place that attracts a younger crowd.

Yea I really like this place before the pandemic?.but after it was always a hit or miss?this time it was a great miss because apparently the Joes didn?t think customer service was a thing?my friends were right and I should have listened, not going back there

They told me my two forms of IN STATE government ID and one school ID were all fake. I an 23 years old. I think their bouncer needs a new job. My friends were all let In with A SINGLE out of state ID . Then the manager told me not to be sassy even though I was made to wait outside in the cold for 20 mins while they debated about my 3 forms of ID. Don?t waste your time and money here. Also it seems all the replies on this thread from the owner are very rude and disrespectful to customers rather than trying to understand what went wrong. I don?t think people with that kind of attitude have a place in the customer service industry.
