This restaurant has different menus for Chinese and Americans, different prices on the small bills, and a mandatory 18% tip for five people at lunchtime. Because of the poor service and the different prices, we said we didn 't want to tip. The waitress shouted to us, You must tip, I am the one who collects tips. I just don 't like to serve Chinese people like you. When she was asked why the menu was more expensive for Chinese people, she explained the same dish to the American and Chinese is different, because the Chinese seasoning more so expensive, see the customer is Chinese to give the Chinese version of the menu. She said Post me on social media, I don 't care. We don 't need Chinese customers .1. As consumers see their receipts and menu prices are not the same, can not ask the reason?2. Shouldn 't the price of treating dishes of different racial groups be the same?3. We understand the need for waiters to tip, but at least look at your own service attitude? The last thing the waiter said was you don 't want to come, don 't come. I don 't need you to come . Yes, there is no next time for this kind of attitude.
I ordered from them a couple of days ago, and my card was used again at Best Buy. I wouldn't suspect them if my meal purchase hadn't been the ONLY common link between these two rare instances of my card information being compromised. I'm unsure if it's due to their poorly designed website or if the employees are noting down my information, but I refuse to allow this to happen again. It's truly unfortunate, as their food and service were excellent during both of my orders. I've probably tried their food a couple of other times through third-party delivery services. Their food is genuinely good, and all the employees I've encountered have been very kind. However, I cannot give them a positive review with such questionable incidents occurring. Be cautious, and if you choose to support them, use cash.
The prices on the menu didn't match what was on the receipt. When I pointed this out, they claimed they "forgot" to update the menu. Additionally, an automatic tip of 18% was added for our party of five, but the service was quite poor.
Terrible customer service. Our dine-in experience was truly disappointing. We initially came in for takeout, but after waiting a significant amount of time for someone to take our order, we decided to sit down. We were served by a gentleman who struggled to understand us. When our food finally arrived, it seemed incomplete and did not match the prices listed on the menu. A female staff member at the front acknowledged our concerns about the discrepancies, explaining that the menu prices didn’t match our receipt because “we just don’t have the staff right now to update that.” When we voiced more of our concerns, she bluntly responded, “If you’re not happy—just go SOMEWHERE ELSE.”
This quickly became one of my DC-area go-tos, and a family favorite. I truly appreciate that they do Chinese home cooking authentically while providing less ‘scary’ options so I can invite my less adventurous foodie friends to enjoy as well. The variety of offerings is impressive, they actually make things hot when I ask them to (one of the few restaurants that isn’t scared to do so! , and the decor is just icing on the cake. I really do love this place. Xie xie! :
