Helen's Bakery - Falkland

Located in the picturesque and historic town of Falkland, overlooking the Royal Palace and gardens, this restaurant is one of only two in the area that offers vegan cakes and baked goods. We have been drawn back to this place several times. Some of their specialties include vegan mint and potato cakes, vegan haggis, and sweetcakes. They also offer a variety of other baked goods, with different options available daily. Other nearby dining options in the village include a deli and the Temple of Hercules, accessible either from Falkland or via a forest path.

We tried the vegan haggis and tatties cake as well as the vegan haggis, tatties, and neeps cake, and both were delicious. We would definitely come back again.

After enjoying a lovely walk through the countryside just outside the village of Falkland, I stumbled upon this hidden gem of a restaurant. While Falkland may not offer many vegan options, this place exceeded my expectations. I tried the mint and potato cake and it was delicious - even better than I remembered! The owner, who is absolutely lovely, mentioned that she recently opened the restaurant and is actively seeking to include more vegan dishes on the menu. In addition to the fantastic mint and potato cake, the restaurant also offers a tempting chocolate cake, soups, various cakes, and is currently working on developing vegan sandwich and roll fillings. Needless to say, I will definitely be returning soon!
