Dapur Jen is a hidden gem. We enjoyed the delicious Rijstaffel, a sample platter of authentic Indonesian dishes. Some were spicy for adults, while others were more kid-friendly. Jen and her husband were very welcoming and friendly. The kids were entertained with colored paper and pencils while we waited for our food. My favorite was the beef rendang! We also received complimentary prawn crackers with spicy sambal as an appetizer.
We went to this restaurant as a group of 8 for a farewell lunch and opted for the banquet. Everything was excellent - the gado gado was especially delicious. The service was good and there was no issue with parking in the Woolworths carpark nearby.
As others have stated, you simply will not receive better service. Frank and Jen are warm and welcoming. They are happy to guide you in the menu to find exactly what you want and the only surprise when your food arrives is how authentic it is and how many amazing layers of flavours they have assembled. Certainly not our last visit to this cozy place in Fairy Meadow.
I stumbled upon this place while looking for somewhere to eat on my lunch break and I was not disappointed. I ordered the lunch special fried rice and received extremely friendly service by the owner who was always there if I needed something but was not intruding on my lunch. Definitely recommended if you are looking for somewhere to eat in fairy meadow
