Lily's Gyros - Fairview Heights

Fairview Heights is a hidden gem! The food is authentic, and I've never tasted a better gyro. The staff who cook and take orders are genuinely the kindest people I've ever encountered. It’s a fantastic place!

YUMM! I decided to switch things up and went out for lunch instead of cooking at home. The staff were friendly and efficient, and even though the building showed some signs of wear, the overall cleanliness was impressive, especially for a later lunch hour. Even the ketchup packets were neatly arranged! It felt like a family-run establishment, and I believe the mother cooked my meal after I placed my order. The cashier even brought my food to the table, which added a nice touch, though the vibe was more casual, like a quick-service place. I opted for the lunch special, which was quite a generous portion for just $7.49 before tax. My dish that day was a beef gyro topped with Tzatziki sauce, tomatoes, and onions, served with a side of fries. I found it absolutely delicious! I noticed almost everyone who came in after me ordered the Italian beef, so I can only assume that's a popular choice for a reason.

The falafel, gyro, and moussaka were all fantastic. The homemade Greek dressing was delightful. We definitely plan to return. There's a sign that says to share your love, but not your drink.

The food was fantastic! All homemade! The staff was friendly, they even came out to see if everything was okay and it was! You should check it.

Friendly atmosphere, food is great. Would recommend to anyone who loves food made the old fashioned way. The soup was so thick it had to be homemade. Will definitely be going back soon.
