It's like being served in your Gradma's house, but you don't have to do the dishes. Quaint Diner, who has some really good food. Find it in the food network for some of the best in the area. I set the GPS to go there first when in the Fairmont area.
Every city has and deserves a place like McAteer. It's good food and big portions. I prefer breakfast at lunch, but both are not disappointing. Hours are not long. Only cash. Two disadvantages. At St. Patrick's Day they serve traditional Irish dishes and good luck getting a table.
As authentic as it becomes. Very authentic home; very friendly staff. Family business. A real find, not McDonald's guy Diners. Load the local memory of the walls and all around. We ate at the counter and linger. In the night before, we dined in Grafton with the captain (yes, the food is bad, in Grafton). We're going out to eat McAteer again.
Just perfect. I love this place. Small town of Diner since 1958. There is a counter to sit at the stands and tables. I love sitting in a stand. We always go to breakfast so that this is the only food I can check, but I assume that the food is the same quality as the breakfast. I always get the same omelette with ricotta cheese, spinach and mushrooms, and they put large plates of in-house tomatoes on the omelet if you want. Creamy ricotta, and just the right amount of vegetables, make the perfectly cooked eggs really delicious. You have your choice at home baked bread, and I always get raisin bread, you get 2 huge, thick slices, with exactly the right amount of butter. My husband and I share an order of homeries with peppers and onions, crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, not greasy at all. Then we also share a blueberry pancake because their pancakes are divine, large, plump berries, crispy edges, soft, stretchable inside. This place has not changed forever, and consistency really makes a great restaurant. Service is good, nice people, good coffee and small teeny tiny coke.
Wonderful people and wonderful food. When you go in you really are like family. I was a customer for years before working there for a few years in college. The staff are so sweet and the customers that come in even semi regularly become family to the staff. One of the cooks is the owner and he takes special care in making sure every single piece of food that goes out is of excellent quality. And once a year on Saint Patrick's Day they do the corn beef and cabbage meal for the roots of the families Irish heritage that owns and runs the business.
