Bbq21 - Fairfax

I cannot recommend this place. The quality is not the same as it was when it was a Korean BBQ. The receipt reads BBQ 21, and it’s listed on various "Dining for Miles" sites under BBQ21, yet the signage outside says Mardang. We ordered the Calamari Dumplings as appetizers, and both were disappointing. The calamari, which was supposed to be in tempura batter, didn’t seem crispy at all. The dumplings were also unappetizing and not crispy either—they were fried instead of steamed. To add to our disappointment, they were out of Galbi. We ended up ordering spicy pork, bulgogi, and pork.

We had lunch here and absolutely loved it! I ordered the mul naengmyeon, while my partner got the galbi lunchbox. Both dishes exceeded our expectations, and the service was outstanding! We will definitely return!

I had totally forgotten this area of town existed until I came across this restaurant next to the new Great Wall grocery store. The menu offers a wide range of options, which can be a bit overwhelming at times. However, there's something for everyone, so it's worth taking your time to read through the choices, especially if you're new to Korean cuisine. Personally, I enjoyed the chicken teriyaki, cheese donkatsu, and both spicy and non-spicy cold noodles. If you're in the mood for Korean food and want plenty of menu options, this is the place to go!

One of my favorite restaurants, offering great value for the price. I ordered the beef stew soup, which unexpectedly arrived with rice. If you enjoy soaking your rice in tasty broth, you'll absolutely love this! The meal also included six banchan (side dishes). Food: 4.5/5.

I've visited this restaurant a few times and have tried something different each time. From the bulgogi to daegoo mae un tang, daegu mom tong jjim, and bullak jeongol, every dish has been incredibly flavorful, fresh, and delicious. The atmosphere is inviting, the service is excellent, and the food is served quickly. Every dish has been consistently fresh and authentic. I would rate it a perfect 11 out of 10!
