We dine outside, under a wooden canopy. The menu is fixed, and that day presented a rich appetizer of tropea onions with mayonnaise sauce, two first (butter and sage cakes and tomato strozzapreti), baked rabbit with spices, grilled vegetables, dessert, water and wine, coffee and digestive. All exquisitely fresh, all very digestible (also the white wine of their production, very light and from all meal, with very few sulphites). Price: less than 25€ per head! Beautiful landscape location on the hills of Faenza. Ideal for those who do not love formality and the only aesthetic appearances of common places.
From the list of wineries participating in the open wine initiative, we came across this. Restoration only by reservation as the family management (the two owners) is based only on certain attendances. Practically you enter the house of the owners: a couple of ultrasectent but very good. There is no menu but you are told what you will be served. Typically Romagna cuisine, nothing exceptional but worth it for the hilly surroundings with numerous paths to go.
I don't want to talk about food!!!! I'm on the managers. Nino, 82 years old, fantastic person with a desire to do an exaggerated good. Brain that always thinks big, brain and young head. The wife, the azador of the place. Personally I find very fascinating what these 2 people transmit, of course if you feel comfortable as at home it is inevitable to be okay. After all this, you also eat well, strictly Romagna but never heavy and genuine. I've been there three times in a short time and if I get back there's a reason. BRAVI, BRAVI AND BRAVI!!!!!! Very good! We ate here with family and friends. Antipasto, 2 first (very good, one I've never seen, or tasted before) according to baked potatoes, gratinate vegetables, and a bis de dessert, wine (while), water coffee and digestives made by them.! to 27 euros. In the first hills of Faenza, there is this ancient house. Your innkeepers are two nice old people full of energy! White, energetic, direct, realistic, made in a single hard and tender piece at the same time. Her husband Nino Tini, a Faentino character, a mountain of man, tender and sensible, a poet, and the RE Dello Zafferano as the first and only cultivator in Emiglia Romagna. Biancarosa's cuccina was a Mega-SORPRESA. And the term ancient flavors took a sense and a truth for me after the first time I happened there, so that almost every week we can organize a small group to go to eat in company! And in the end, the environment: cozy, beaning, warm. The feeling of going to see grandparents in the countryside, feeling at home! Then their own wine. Happy!!! Only by reservation!
