Dear michael and gertie person, we would like to take the time to express our appreciation for our vaters pension experience in the ship inn. we decided to keep our special event in their restaurant for the fine culinary experience, the great service and the spectacular eating. therefore we were not surprised that their restaurant held its wonderful call again for our family and our guests. the rose room was private and fulfilled our needs. everyone had nothing but wonderful things to say about the service. every single entrée was delicious. their server (carrie evelyn) also supported our guests with elegance and speed as they took care of all the needs. due to this excellent presentation and service we will continue to dinate in the ship inn for special occasions and recommend their restaurant to our family and friends. we are definitely happy that we decided to keep our celebration in the ship inn and hope that they will stay in the opposite for many more years! a hug from all of us! with much thankfulness, the Wyatt-Westbrook family

The restaurant has a charming atmosphere with beautiful decor and a rich history that has been well preserved. The drinks at the bar are enjoyable, and the staff is friendly. Unfortunately, the food left a lot to be desired. The lobster bisque was disappointing; there was hardly any lobster in it for the $15 price tag. We also ordered the prime rib and filet, but both were served cold. They attempted to reheat them, but they came back with a rubbery texture, as if they had been microwaved. Overall, a lovely place, but the food did not meet our expectations.

Swordfish served over a can of chickpeas and topped with some awful olive concoction. Who eats this stuff? No bread or rolls. They should offer selection of vegetables but don't. Flounder serving was way too small. We won't be back!

Our server was not very attentive and appeared very bored.

Our server was exceptionally attentive and friendly. They even brought us a delightful miniature sample of “Malonsuppe” to try, which was delicious.
