Cafe Zest - Exeter

A tale of two experiences at this café. The man who took my order was very helpful, but the service afterwards was lacking. I wasn't acknowledged until I asked for it, and was told that it wasn't the norm. The waiter brought my food promptly and it was tasty, but the restroom left much to be desired. It was odorous, dirty, with a broken toilet paper holder and no replacement roll in sight.

We decided to seek refuge from the rain and grab a quick bite to eat along with a cup of tea at this restaurant. My mom selected a sandwich from the menu that was actually out of stock, despite being advertised. The staff apologized and we ended up choosing something else. The customer service was excellent, so it's no surprise that this restaurant is always busy.

We sought refuge from the rain in this restaurant to take a break and recharge before doing some Christmas shopping. After exploring two empty floors in House of Fraser, we stumbled upon this cafe. It appeared to be a bit worn out and neglected, likely in its final days. My daughter ordered a sandwich and a drink, while I opted for a scone. Unfortunately, my scone was undercooked in the middle and the only available spreads were jam and blackcurrant marmalade. The sandwich was soggy and unappetizing. As we sat eating, a heated argument broke out between two customers over a chair, prompting another customer to intervene and request that they take their discussion elsewhere as it was not appropriate for the environment. My son, who was with us, was unsettled by the altercation. Overall, our experience at the restaurant was not pleasant.

My partner and I wanted to treat my grandparents to a beautiful coffee. the service we received was really under par, the priority of the customers behind us in the waiting queue to feel invisible. beyond that, the coffee was terrible. will not be back....other will be my grandparents.

Ordered fish and chips, the chips were under cooked, the fish bland and tasteless. Not to mention the not so fresh peas they came out OVER cooked. Over all a poor excuse for a cafe.
