We traveled from calais to toulouse and decided to stop in evreux. we chose the hotel normandie as it was close to the city center and also offered a parking space at a very cheap price. our room is located in the 2nd floor and had a...canny bed. However, the bed was very firm for us and we would prefer a slightly softer matratze. the temperature in the room was quite high, without opening other options than a window, which then made the room loud by the traffic noise from the outside. all the facilities in the room were good with tea and coffee. great shower and water pressure with lots of hot water. the breakfast consisted of traditional French fayre, with much everything. a beautiful traditional French hotel with an attentive owner. I'm sure they'll stay here.
Longstanding local favorite. Classic Normandy dishes prepared to perfection. Attentive but not overbearing service. Staff speaks minimal English but did a great job handling non French speakers. Parking available in center court yard. Wheelchair accessible.
A very pretty half-timbered building, a cheerful welcome and plenty of parking were a good start to our stay. The surroundings were attractive and it was easy to walk into the town to admire the Cathedral. We had a lovely room with comfortable beds, a choice of duvets, tea making facilities, plenty of towels and of course a bathroom. This was the only disappointment, as there was nowhere to perch the shower head. A 'shower' involved sitting in the bath and holding up the shower head! Probably this was only in our room, others must be better. We also ate in the hotel restaurant and had an excellent meal. The chief waitress looked a little dour, but was cheerful and efficient. We would definitely stay here again!
A very welcoming and friendly old hotel, and a good overnight stay en route to the south from le tunnel. The receptionist was charming, spoke a little English, and with our little French we managed very well. The room was on the second floor of the very old building, and with the temperature in the nineties we were worried that it would be like a sauna! We were pleasantly surprised to find a large, newly refurbished room, with two very large windows, a comfortable bed, and nicely decorated. There was a welcome tray, and free wifi that was easy to access. The bathroom and separate toilet were also newly fitted and stylishly tiled, with a large corner bath with a shower unit.Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for refurbishment, but it was possible to sit outside on the terrace with a drink, and parking was available securely at the back of the hotel for 5 euros. We would certainly break our journey there again.
