We usually have lunch at this restaurant. My wife orders the Chicken Lo Mein, while I go for the Moogoo Gai Pan. Both dishes are part of the lunch specials, priced at $7.45. The food is consistently fresh, hot, and generous in portion. The staff is attentive and friendly.
I visited on Friday at 3 PM and was surprised to find only one table being served when we arrived, despite the shared parking lot being quite full. We enjoyed the Empress Chicken and Mongolian Beef, both of which were delicious. I found the pricing to be reasonable for the portion sizes, which are likely generous enough that most patrons will need to take leftovers home. I'm definitely planning to return!
Edit. I have not been here in 10 years. Our favorite place in our new area close down recently so we tried China wok again. Pretty decent American style Chinese food. The sauces are good enough and the portions are plentiful. The lunch specials are around eight dollars which given this time with inflation is a welcome sight. The service is pretty rude though. The man on the phone had limited English and hung up on me when I tried to change something. He was pretty abrasive when I picked up the food but it wasn't just me, he was abrasive to everybody. I seem to see that over and over again on these reviews. I know what they can do to alleviate the English barrier. They don't have their lunch specials numbered. It would be a lot easier to say number 16, hot and sour soup, eggroll.
Best pork fried rice in St. Louis!!! Service is always pretty quick for take out or sit down.
