Been here many times over the years, most recently August 2017...Still the usual perks - lots of tvs, free wi-fi, fun atmosphere....HOWEVER, noticed the menu prices are quite high, and portions are really not reflected in the price...most items are $18 or more....even salads, which are very small, are in and around that much...service is average, but still long waits for drink refills and to get the cheque...I guess the big chains are looking to cash-in even more....They may also make an effort to clear all of the smokers from the front doors when you walk in....
Overpriced and not very good - small portions for big $$$. My family visited this restaurant and we were hoping for a nice late lunch early supper meal. I was very disappointed in my meal - ordered tacos and I received three miniature tacos with ground beef (I think)on my plate - I don't think it would feed a five year old.My husband was not happy with his options also.will not be visiting Jack Asters till they start looking at there menu and portion sizes
Entered asked for a table of 7 at 8.30 we were put in a booth for 6 we asked to move they moved us 10 mins later to a table that we held onto as it was about to collapse , the food came out at the wrong times some of us weren't served at all one member waited an hour for a sprite , the kids left there main course as there were no plates offered read my reviews I don't give poor ratings but this is the worst I have ever come across it should be closed down
I had a late night snack at the Queensway location. Two in our party. I go there quite often and usually there are no major issues. The food is good, the restaurant is kept clean and the service is acceptable. I noticed that the new Western Canadian Burger had a western omelet on it so I asked the server Julia if I could order just a western omelet. Right away she said that this would not be possible since there are no substitutions allowed. I explained to her that I was not looking for a "substitution". I wanted to know if I could order an omelet and that the cost was not an issue. She said that she wouldn't even know hot to enter the item in the POS. After I few minutes of back and fort, I asked her to check with a manager. she came back a few minutes later and told me: "kitchen said that they will not make it". No further explanation. I left it at that and on my way out asked to speak to a manager. I spoke to Fatima Ali and asked her why they wouldn't prepare a simple item if they already had the ingredients. She also reiterated that the directive from the head office is that there are no "substitutions" allowed. So if I ordered three of those hamburgers and asked them to leave the everything out but the omelet, they wouldn't have done it? Doesn't make sense. It was a simple thing to do and the compensation was not an issue. Why lose a customer over it? I am very disappointed and will not be returning to that location. On a side note, Julia should not be asking: "Do you need any change?" just before collecting a cash payment.
