Le Grand Monarque was a lovely hotel (with a Michelin starred restaurant), abutting the upper part of the old town.

I have stayed many times at The Grand Monarque when travelling to Chartres with work and often I end up just eating at their brasserie.

always perfect kitchen, well-stocked, family. Never a bad surprise. good value quality price. excellent service. exceptional pastries.

30 minutes for a glass of water. the rest to the coming ... very few vegetables, meats in profusion but that's not what we wanted to avoid or run away
