Hop Sing - Essex

Do not order online! I tried it, and my order was completely messed up. When I called to get it corrected, they yelled at me, insisting that I had ordered pancakes as my appetizer instead of the egg rolls I requested. Why can't they just admit their mistake and try to make their customers happy? After all, I'm the one who paid for the food! I'm really disappointed. I wish they would take the time to learn English so they could understand their customers better. That was the real issue; they just didn't grasp what I was saying. And what's up with this terrible pancake mix-up?

This is by far my favorite place! The portion sizes are generous, the food is consistently excellent, and the prices are fantastic. I've been dining here for 10 years and they have never once gotten my order wrong!

I'm quite selective when it comes to Chinese food, and I really enjoy dining here, so I'd rate it 4 stars. However, I'm often confused about their operating hours. Google indicates they’re open, but when I call, I either get a busy signal or a never-ending ring. When I finally arrive, the doors are sometimes locked. The food is excellent, but I just can't rely on them being available when they say they will be.

We had no good experience and will not be ordered again! I propose to order from another Chinese restaurant.

My family loves getting Chinese food from here and very appreciative that they were open later on Christmas Eve.
