Waiter was nice and reported the vegetable fufungo and pasta could be made vegan. Very tasty and tostones of course. Hummus also very good. Unfortunately beans cooked with pork. Overall, pretty good but around 10-15 per plate. Portions of pasta were huge first night and less next 2x there but still respectable.
Our server was extremely friendly and understanding of our vegan dietary restrictions. They recommended the veggie mofongo, which turned out to be delicious.
The waiter informed us that the manager would not make substitutions or changes to the menu today. The only obvious vegan options were the hummus plate, tostones (served with mayo on the side), and amarillos. When we asked the waitress (luckily a vegetarian) for options for our group of three vegans, she mentioned they also had a vegan burger patty available. My son enjoyed the burger, but it came with mayo which he scraped off. The hummus was delicious and the portion size was good for my daughter. I ordered the tostones (which were delicious) and dipped them in my daughter's hummus since the sauce had mayo in it. It was clear that the restaurant caters more towards typical American tourists. My non-vegan partner had the lobster mac and cheese and found it to be delicious. While the waitress made an effort to accommodate us, it seemed that the kitchen did not fully understand our dietary preferences. This restaurant does not seem to cater well to vegans, and the initial greeting made me feel unwelcome.
Our server was very friendly. She recognized the limited vegan options, but recommended the veggie mofongo. It was really good.
