Les Viviers de l'Ocean - Esnandes

We were recommended this restaurant by the chambre d'hote. The quality of the food was superb, and the price very fair. Cheerful, friendly service made for a very special evening. The set meal is a winner. After our main course we took 10 minutes to paddle in the sea before having dessert. The view over the ocean is stunning.You are strongly advised to reserve a table in the summer months - we were lucky as we arrived relatively early, but some people had to eat indoors.

We stopped here for lunch on our trip south. Originally we were heading for La Rochelle but were not disappointed to stop short at this seaside restaurant. If you love seafood (especially fruits de mer) then this is the place. Unpretentious but good food at a sensible price and with views over to the Ile de Re.

Les Viviers is a simple but excellent sea food restaurant with a lovely view over the Atlantic & the Ile de Re. The seafood is fantastic & service very friendly & helpful. There is a lovely walk along the sea too.

Great restaurant for seafood and views of the sea and sunset. Good value and a good selection of fresh local seafood.

In an unpretentious building we had a great lunch with a lovely view over the sea and estuary. Les Viviers is situated on the sea road just west of the town of Esnandes amongst sea-food fisheries' shacks. Very clean and well presented.We were touring the area taking in the sights, and the moules et frites suited us perfectly. Very reasonably priced.We would not hesitate to revisit next time we are in the area, to try the other sea-food dishes they have on offer.FYI, Esnandes is on the scenic route to La Rochelle or Ile de Re from the Vendee.
