Nice!
Elixir Espresso Wine Bar in Westfield North County is located under the big twirling West field sign and in front of Brookstone. It has that ambience of a relaxing place in the middle of a busy mall. Great spot for us early bird mall walkers, opens at 7am.
This place used to be my oasis away from it all, about two years ago. The coffee was well blended and you could tell that the baristas took pride and care on their work. Unfortunately, things have changed. The elixir in the mall of Escondido has turned into another general, run-of-the-mill, coffee spot. We all know the type. It’s the one that you stop at only because it’s on the way or is the most convenient. The environment is dirty and the inside bottom of the cup is a thick layer of unmixed powder. Please, get the old crew back or at least learn how they made their coffee! Elixir used to show people what coffee was supposed to be. Now all it does is remind us of how companies sell out.
I've discovered a new favorite spot that features some amazing house secret recipes, including taro, durian, and jasmine tea flavors. The yogurt flavor is particularly delicious, striking the perfect balance of tartness.
We have been coming here for 2 years. Previous, FABULOUS. Wine, coffee, light food.. Over the last 6 months this Coffee Bar has eroded Customer Service and Product. Staff would rather be anywhere else than here working! Today was 5he last hurrah for us though. In the afternoon on a Saturday in a busy mall they told us there was no coffee. Ok, I could have order a glass of wine, or a hot tea, but come on, a coffee house that has run out of Coffee. Glad our economy is better because I'll take our business somewhere else. To bad. The was a great manager here before, but he left for Arkansas.....
