Canyon Grille Welk Resort - Escondido

We stayed a week at Welk Resort and made the mistake of eating at Canyon Grille. It was the first and last visit. The food was quite abysmal and even packed under “Sysco” dinner. And it was too expensive for diner-like meals! The decor is rather a slightly elevated Denny's aesthetic. Hard pass!

Good for a bite when you go to the theatre at Lawrence Welk Resort.

I wouldn't recommend it to a friend because her service was terrible. It took 40 minutes to get water. Then we had to wait to take over our order. I must admit that the food was delicious, but the whole culinary experience was terrible.

We had a reservation for Valentine's day and they put us out on the patio with no heat and wires hanging all over the walls. Then we asked to move inside, they did, twice. They asked if it's ok to move us into another waiters section. Odd but easy enough. The waiter would disappear for 20-30 minutes at a time. There where so many people staring into space wondering wtf was going on. We come here often and it was no more busy then any other Friday night. It seems like every other time we come here it's a sit show. We keep going back because we are trapped with it being the only place around.

The Canyon Grille is especially convenient for those staying as guests at the Welk Resort, but is open to anyone. They have great service. Lunch is served until 5pm. Good food and comparably priced to other restaurants.
