Syrtaki Inh. Lois Evangelos - Eschwege

I was eating with two locals yesterday. this place did not last five minutes in Greece or a week in melbourne, where I come from, with the largest Greek population outside of breathing - never seen so much pork on a menu. the staff is modest, and the service is lousy. I ordered a mixed plate for a head: souvlaki, gyros and steak. a reasonable person would have expected two different cuts of lamb plus bark steak. No, they get lamb gyros, then bounces on a spit masquerading as souvlaki, and then another plate of pork as steak. the pig was super hard, and the whole flesh was over salty – to get out of the lack of quality, I guess. for beginners they even give a free salat, but it is a sad looking German/Russian mixture, brown at the edges, and not something I ever got in a Greek restaurant in Greece or melb. avoid this place. I think they play on the fact that the German, bless them, eat nothing and not complain. the generations after the war learned to eat everything on their tellers. that is a pretty cynical outfit, and the meal of my two guests were also challenging – especially the hunch that was hard as boot leather. instead I recommend this to the krone restaurant around the corner. order the baurernschnitzel. the pig is tender and fresh!

Cheap and a basic food, not so delicious, but it's okay for a snake. the service is very simple, so not too much to expect.

The restaurant had a bit of a strange old smell inside, so we decided to take a table outside, too bad we did not know that the decorations were very dodgy here: they had plastic terrace chairs and tables with plastic table covers that. the food was lacking in taste and was only greasy, the salad swimming in oil and was filled with wobble. at least they served alcohol.

Der Vorspeisenteller ist der absolute Hammer. Sehr lecker und frisch. Mal eine schöne Alternative zu den üppigen Fleischportionen.

Wir waren früher öfters hier zum essen jetzt seit längerem mal wieder und leider total enttäuscht. .. das die Portionen viel kleiner geworden sind stört uns nicht aber die Qualität lässt leider sehr zu wünschen übrig. ..
