I never leave negative reviews, but after today’s experience, I had to. Upon entering, I noticed a room full of eager, hungry snowmobilers on a holiday weekend, waiting without food, and most without drinks. Tables full of dirty dishes from previous customers still not cleaned up. And not a staff member in sight. I asked one of the 2 staff members that appeared (let’s call her RUDE lady how long the wait was, and she snapped at me “10 minutes but I can’t promise you anything”. We finally ordered (Elk burger and turkey club and upon getting our order, we were both skeptical if they made it right. Mine tasted more like beef, but I had never tried elk, so how would I know? His came as a wrap, so we assumed they were out of bread (since they were out of everything!!! . There was no staff to be found, so we ate it anyway. Here’s the good part.... on our way out, the RUDE lady said “you guys DO know you ate the wrong meal, right? Who eats something they didn’t even order?” and laughed without offering to compensate or apologize for THEIR mistake in any way, and walked away. Her ONLY job is to be a waitress (to serve food and provide good customer service , neither of which she is good at. Judging by other reviews, I am not the only one noticing this...
The owners are rude and yell at patrons! The food was not good at all! We ordered sandwiches with french fries that were not cooked. Fries were cold and tasted frozen. We will never go back again! We tried to address with the owner and were told to leave and were yelled at!
I would like to make an offer to purchase this restaurant and campground. From my recent stay it's clear to me that the owners have no interest in running this place any longer. Don't get me wrong the woman who was working waitress, bartender, camp receptionist) was wonderful. The owners on the other hand are very difficult. They are awe full at responding. Good luck trying to get them on the phone to offer to pay them money. As to their camp facilities, no firewood available well at least during hours when people are actually back at camp). My group was there for a 4 day spend and during that time the bathrooms were never cleaned, there was no soap at the sinks and the trash was never emptied. As to the restaurant. Very off hours. Again, almost a full camp and the restaurant was hardly open. They could have made a fortune this weekend. So, make me and offer and let me turn this into a real destination. Oh, and no signage on the trails telling me how to get there. Bad marketing. But as I said, you don't really seem interested in owning this place anymore.
I will start this post by saying my family owns property in Errol and we have been coming up here for 40 years. We have always enjoyed the Log Haven for a night out or a lunch stop on the trails. That being said, two years ago friends and myself stopped in after a day of riding. We were prepared to spend HUNDREDS. A few of us walked in to use the bathroom while the others were outside, dusting themselves off. The owner came out screaming at the group outside. He thought we only came to use the bathroom. The lunatic took pictures of all of our registrations and threatened to call the police. When we explained we were there for food drink, he was still so worked up he told us we were not welcome and told us we better leave. I will never be back and will advise anyone I know to avoid this business as well. For a business that relies on tourism, their customer service is garbage. Stay away!
We have been here on multiple occasions. It has never been great but it's been convenient. We went once on a Sunday, apparently too close to closing time and they refused to serve us. We went for lunch on a Saturday and the waitress yelled at us, as we were waiting to be seated, that she was too busy and we'd basically just have to deal with it. This past weekend, we were a group of 18 adults and 3 very young children who stopped there for lunch while out for a ride. Our entire group was insulted by the owner who takes rude to a whole new level. The service was atrocious and so was the food. Never again.....
