I assumed the staff would understand this as well. Our server knew nothing about it. She had to ask someone in the kitchen whose statement didn't seem confident either. I had to explain to them what gluten was and just trust that stuff was really gluten free based on prior reviews. It was pretty scary but my kids were already hungry so I got it. I ordered 3 kids meals, a quesadilla and fries, and 2 of the taco enchilada meals. All 3 kids liked their food except for one of them hated the enchiladas. I tried it and thought it was pretty good though. The salsa and chips were good. They weren't better than anywhere else though. They also give a smaller bowl of chips and smaller container of salsa than anywhere else though. It's fine since they give you more when you ask, but rather inconvenient when you have three kids with you. We had to ask for more twice instead of the usual once anywhere else. I ordered the chicken fajita which was just as expensive as anywhere else but like a quarter, at best a third of anywhere else. It was good, but not even as good as usual compared to other placed. I was actually very disappointed in it since it's my favorite meal. The employees were really nice and you can tell it is a family run place. I feel kind of bad for saying this but I do think it's a little unprofessional that they let their toddler wonder around. I love kids so it didn't bother me. I know some people though that wouldn't have liked it. He kept coming over to our table. His mother did stand by and watch so he wasnt unsupervised. She said he just started walking 2 days ago so she was probably just excited to see him walk. Maybe that isn't going to be an every day thing. If it is though I can see some customers in the future getting upset. Overall I would say the place is average. I really only would come back for the gluten free options but I am not even confident in that so I'm not sure I will return. If I do, I would definitely get something other then the fajita so I could get a better portion size.
We came for dinner. It was busy, but we waited less than 5 minutes to be seated. The food was pretty good. Service was mostly non-existant. I asked for shredded beef and NO sour cream. I got ground beef and a huge dollop of sour cream. When I reminded her I didn't want any sour cream, she took it back into the kitchen and returned 30 seconds later- basically just scraped off most of it. I lost most of my salad and guacamole because they didn't replate. We got seated fast, got chips and AMAZING salsa fast and our drinks, which were tasty, also came pretty fast, then we waited about 40 minutes for food. It wasn't a terrible experience, but it would have been if the food wasn't as good as it was. I'd recommend it, but wouldn't go out of my way to come back again.
Food is delicious and service was great!!! So glad we stopped here on our way back to Ohio!
I think this restaurant is closed. It's Tuesday night and the lights are off. It doesn't appear to be open.
I am disappointed to announce that Amigos Mexican Restaurant has closed its doors. Another casualty of the ongoing pandemic. I wish them the best of luck in the future, as I will truly miss this establishment.
