Casa Piri Piri - Erkelenz

Good but advisable to book. We arrived on a Friday evening at 6pm without a booking and were given the choice of waiting until 7pm or having a table on the terrace at the front. We chose to eat immediately but there are two downsides to being outside; one is that people come outside to smoke, the second is that the only view is of Mega Fun (we decided it is a bierkeller). For food we chose the speciality 4 course meal a salad with one rib and one sardine, a plate of shell on prawns in piri piri sauce, a small plate of grilled fish (sea bass and salmon) served with crisps, a small plate of meat or a dessert. The ribs were rated as good, likewise the prawns and sauce. The fish was beautifully cooked and the crisps were freshly made. We each chose a different dessert and shared but, to be honest, being made in advance, they were bland and unremarkable. The food plus a couple of beers came to 65 euros. In summary, good quality food in the main and friendly service but mains are not cheap and you may need to book ahead.

Sehr sehr lecker! Fühlen uns fast immer wohl. Teils ist die Lautstärke extrem aber das ist meist samstags der Fall. Ansonsten geht es. Kommen gerne wieder wobei es schon etwas teuer ist. Aber das macht man ja auch nicht täglich

Wir wollten das Lokal ausprobieren. Anruf am Sonntag und noch einen Tisch für zwei reserviert. Bei Ankunft war das Lokal proppenvoll. Die Bedienung war fix und freundlich. Der Salat mit dem Dressing für meinen Geschmack zu sauer. Oliven waren alle Und dann haben wir über eine Stunde auf unser Essen gewartet. Der Gambaspiess und der Fischspiess waren nicht wirklich warm und die beste Gambasosse gibt es hier definitiv nicht. Schade. Aber für uns bleibt nur noch eine Wahl und zwar die ERSTE. Um excelente restaurante, numa vila simpática alemã é um prazer encontrar um pouco de Portugal.Um casal muito simpático, Maria e Rui fazem deste espaço um lugar agradável para degustar uma excelente refeição, boa variedade de vinhos e comida tipicamente Portuguesa, sem duvida o melhor da região!

Best food in town. Rui and the team produce great quality food and service, its a pleasure to eat there.
