Darjeeling Kitchen - Erie

I visited this place for the lunch buffet and was thrilled to have another Indian dining option downtown. The prices and food quality are typical of an Indian buffet, but the Lamb Biryani and desserts (Kheer and Sewai) were outstanding—truly delicious! My only issues were the slow refills and the fact that they serve naan at your table instead of offering it at the buffet. Those minor points kept me from giving a 5-star rating. Overall, it was a very satisfying experience. I definitely recommend checking it out, and I plan to return for dinner soon!

The lamb was outstanding, and the staff was incredibly friendly. I arrived before they opened, but they welcomed me in as if I were family. A health inspector had recommended this place to me, and I'm glad they did. I will definitely return the next time I'm in Erie.

So far, this is my favorite Indian restaurant in Erie. Ever since Raj Mahal opened and then closed, I haven’t been able to find a good substitute. I tried the place on Peach Street, but with its constantly changing ownership, I can’t even remember the name. However, I was thrilled to visit this restaurant and really enjoyed the food. When we arrived, it was quite empty, which made me a bit concerned. But their menu was extensive, and after some tough decisions, we ordered our meals. I requested my dish to be spicy, and it definitely delivered—unlike some other places where “spicy” can mean something more mild. I was immediately pleased. I can’t wait to go back!

Chaat is warm which is great! Never had warm chaat before. Excellent spot for a first date or family dinner. Lots of families with little kids come here

The food was excellent! The best Indian cuisine I’ve ever had. The chicken was so tender it almost melted in my mouth. The naan was great. It was so fluffy and delicious. The service was awesome, the staff was super friendly and you could tell that they were super passionate about their craft. I can’t wait to go back. Definitely looking forward to trying the lunch buffet the next time I have a weekday off. Great job everyone at Darjeeling Kitchen!
