Had an absolutely beautiful meal tonight and tried the black pudding scotch egg and it didnt disappoint, all courses were well presented and superb service In a lovely setting Can't wait to return and hope they rotate the menu on a regular basis

Been here once before and had a good experience. This time unfortunately was pretty poor. The one element of the food which is great is the meat but the accompaniments were really poor. My daughter had a side of macaroni cheese which I cannot believe they let out of the kitchen pasta dish was complete mush and there was zero cheese sauce making it crispy on the edges but a mushy mess underneath just horrible! The gravy was watery thin so we had to ask for some to be made thicker. The roast potatoes seem d to have only been ‘crisped up’ on one side (I really struggle to understand how restaurants can’t make a proper roast potato)! And the service was not great we had to try and catch the waitresses eye constantly to get any type of assistance. A real shame as they can really cook meat well…

The best part of the evening was being able to eat out with family and not rub shoulders with other guests or feel squished in. Plenty of space, and comfortable seats. Too often restaurants want to maximise the amount of customers, and its not pleasant being pushed in a corner, or hearing other people's conversations. All 7 of us, had a variety of starters and mains. The starters were all around £10 each, 4 Chix wings £10, Scotch Egg £10, Chilli flat bread £10 etc. At best the starters were all given the OK, but probably not worth the money for content or presentation. The mains were also just about making the grade, my steak although cooked rare as requested, was tough. I don't expect to see that when paying £32 for what should have been a tender cut of meat. (if you want to serve the specialist cuts of meat listed on your menu, at a similar cost i might add to Michelin standards, please send your chef's to visit Pierre White's to see how its done). The gravies and sauces on the table were all very well received if a little too small in quantity. However the worst Sin, was the lukewarm microwave French Fries served in a battered tin mug, instead of skin on home cooked fries or something that resembled the photo's. Why not admit it was late, you'd ran out of chips, you didn't have anything decent to serve them in, and would some microwave chips be acceptable? And before you say it yes serving in battered old tin plates and mugs was trendy perhaps 10 years ago. I think i would have appreciated some honesty at this point. We as a table were left alone, there was no table check to make sure everything was ok, so service wise we had none. I paid a total food bill of £255 (not including drinks). and left feeling it was a waste of money. Rather than feeling that i had had a great time spent catching up with family.

Absolute brilliant place to go for food! The services was perfect couldn’t do anymore for us. The pizza was delicious. Will definitely be back! Thank you
