Blakes - Epping Forest

We have been patrons of Blake's Carvery for several years now and have always been pleased with our meals. We were excited to visit again after enjoying a barbecue there during the summer. However, we were disappointed to find that the quality had decreased significantly. Despite raising their prices by £3.00 per person, they have cut back on a number of menu items such as carrots, broccoli, swede, spinach, and sausages, leaving only a few peas and beans. This was very disappointing and we will not be returning with friends and family in the near future. It's a shame to see such a decline in what was once a great dining experience.

Our friends recommended Blake's to us, and while the BBQ was decent, I hear that the carvery is amazing. We plan to come back soon as it's being relaunched this month. The staff was very professional and friendly, and they were willing to go above and beyond for us. It's the perfect spot for a large group gathering, with plenty of space outside for the kids to play.

Recently taken over by new management, this restaurant and golf club offers fantastic service. The staff go above and beyond to ensure your well-being, providing a luxurious experience. I would highly recommend this establishment to all of my friends!

Sunday Lunch treat, price £11.95, where do I start. Lovely setting, clean and air-con. Waitress very good. Meat was very well done, veg was sitting in water and not a strainer spoon in sight. Roast spuds looked amazing, but very soft skin, no crunch to them, like they had been microwaved. Gravy like water. It made a Toby look great value and taste. I felt disappointed and wouldn't rush back.

A return visit for Mother's Day this year and our 3rd visit to Blakes. A welcome drink and flowers on the table are a nice touch. Beautiful atmosphere, always made to feel very welcome and attentive staff. The food is always great, hot, plentiful and great variety so great value for money. The best carvery I've been to in fact. Looking forward to our next visit this Sunday.
