Here you can enjoy not only the food, but also the warmth and familiarity of the place. The menu is cheap. The restaurant is located on a main road near Envigado Park in a residential and commercial area. There are options for vegetarians and have specialties during the week. I highly recommend this place. You can pay with debit or credit card soon.
I'm a big fan of Mexican food. You could say I'm a pampered lichen when it comes to it, and I like to wear this label with a smile. Why? Well, living in the Southwest in the USA for nearly 40 years offers the best ways to enjoy all kinds of amazing and true Mexican cuisine in all its splendour. So I jumped with excitement when our foodie group chose a Mexican restaurant for our weekly culinary experience. But when we arrived, I immediately got a feeling about this super small place. The waitress greeted us with an apology because they had no ice cream for our drinks and asked if we were waiting, they could send someone to come somewhere. Two of us asked for a beer brought at room temperature. When we asked why it wasn't cold, she just shoved her shoulders as if she wanted to say that there was nothing she could do. Okay, bad start, maybe it could be better, I hope. I've never seen a Mexican restaurant where most dishes they offer are a variation of something else they can do with the smallest tortillas I've ever seen. Giving the name does not change the fact that they are almost the same dishes, with tiny variations. I ordered the Tostadas what I got was 3 super small tortillas with a tiny amount of chopped tomatoes, a spoon of finely chopped beef, good taste though, and some cheeses. Nothing else served with it; no rice, no fried beans, no vegetables, nothing! And the price was $20? Come on! I also ordered the Sopa Azteca. It was absolutely delicious. We had a good time, the company was fabulous, the food and restaurant not so, unfortunately. My experience was very disappointing and I cannot recommend this place. I'm sorry. I wished her well, but this place leaves much to be desired.
I visited Tequila y Sabor about a month ago and absolutely loved it. The location itself is small on a corner road that is not too far from Parque Envigado. I had the pleasure of meeting Carlos, the owner and his mother who was on vacation in town. The mother greeted us and treated us like family. They explained all the articles on the menu, how what Tinga is and what an alambre is. I ordered the Alambre with Tinga. It was my first time to eat Alambre and it was delicious. Their hot sauce is actually spicy (like Mexican spicy). You have other typical Mexican dishes: Chilaquiles, Tacos, Tostada... Overall, Tequila y Sabor is on the better Mexican restaurants in Medellin/Envigado. The food is good, the spices are amazing, and the price is fair. Definitely worth a visit.
Food is delicious, authentic Mexican cooking. The tipica lunch is the usual rice, beans, salad a slab of meat. The difference is the flavor. The chef has managed to make it perfect for locals and perfect for those of us who like authentic Mexican flavor. Spicy salsa on the side if you want. Recently they have opened up more options for lunch time. For an extra $2.000 COP, you can have a tipico lunch but trading out the piece of meat for an enchilada or other choices of typical Mexican dishes. Great Idea!. It allows a guest to have a lunch with many other choices of Mexican food. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Envigado.
