I wanted to try so many things. I decided to make this my dinner when I visited my mother. not only is the atmosphere and eating great, but the server is one of the best. my son, who is allergic to everything, had no tonne options, but he loved her pommes that I got. it is one of the difficult places to find where everything from eating to service is excellent. I myself am a server and was made by this place wherever!
Very busy with a great selection of adult beverages. Seemed over staffed, if that's possible in this day and age. Since we only ordered a few beverages, I am not sure if our waiter was impressed we were taking up space. However, he did a good job at keeping a poker face and positive attitude.
The food here was delicious! The ingredients were fresh, high quality, and everything was cooked to perfection. Our servers were attentive, without being overbearing, and friendly. I'd recommend for groups with less than 10 people as it wasn't very large inside.
The meal I ordered was really disappointing, especially after someone recommended it. Had the grilled cheese and tomato soup. The bread was really dry, it was obvious they didn't use any butter. The cheese to bread ratio was also pretty lame. It was advertised with bacon and tomato. My sandwich contained half a strip of bacon and one small tomato slice. The soup was pulpy and sort of bland. The fries were limp. Not impressed. The only reason I give more than one star is some people at my table liked their meals, however another person at my table ordered the grilled cheese and had the same disappointment. Also my beer was borderline room temp.
Not sure what to say. Something has changed. I love the food, I love the atmosphere, but the last 2 times I've been there we've had payment issues. The first one was due to their credit card system going down and them having no backup way to take payment other than cash. Our meal was comped but I felt horrible not paying (we didn't have cash). We did have enough to leave a tip, but not nearly enough to pay our bill. We did come back later a drop off payment. The next time we went, we purposely brought cash with us and when we went to pay, we were told they couldn't accept a $100 bill because their manager said to not take anymore for the evening (it was a Friday at 4pm). Our bill was $78. They were unable to provide enough change reportedly to break the $100. Typically we leave a tip in the range of 15-20%, but felt what was happening was extremely odd... especially being the 2nd time in as many visits that the restaurant had payment issues We paid with our card but left a little guarded.I love the Mint, and I hope these are isolated occurrences, but I can't help but wonder if there are looming financial issues that may take them away from us.PLUS, why can't we get our deep-fried pickles? It's been months!!!!
