Longbranch Saloon/20 Below - Ennis

Without a doubt, this is the best steak I've ever had in my 53 years! Big Mama makes you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. The drinks are half the price of those in Bozeman, and the food is far superior to what you’d find in five-star restaurants in NYC!

Despite not having beer on tap (they do offer Coldsmoke Scotch Ale in cans!), everything about Longbranch Saloon was outstanding. It was a quiet late Friday afternoon, with only two locals at the bar who happily joined in our conversation. Our server, Big Momma, made the experience even more enjoyable. The restaurant has a new chef who, in my opinion, makes the best chicken wings ever! We also tried the mushrooms, which were delicious, and shared the special Curry Shepherd's Pie, complete with creamy mashed potatoes and just the right amount of ground meat and vegetables, all infused with a lovely curry flavor. We ended up staying longer than intended and had a fantastic time. I highly recommend this place!

We were quickly welcomed and assisted, and our waitress was both friendly and sassy, skillfully adding a touch of playful banter that made the experience even more enjoyable. The owner even stopped by to throw some good-natured jabs at us non-locals, which contributed to the lighthearted ambiance. We started with a beer and some fried pickles—just a heads up, they don’t serve draft beer here. The pickles had a nice kick and were wonderfully crunchy. For our main course, we ordered a couple of burgers cooked on the outdoor BBQ, which gave them a delicious charred flavor. While the burgers were good, they could have used a bit more bacon and pastrami. The tots and onion rings were slightly overcooked, but we still managed to finish them. If you find yourself in Ennis and are in the mood for a burger, a saloon atmosphere, and a bit of sass, Longbranch is the place to be. Cheers!

One word to describe this place... Welcoming. I arrived into town late Saturday night of Memorial Day weekend and most of the restaurants had closed. The kind lady over heard me asking about diner and she asked me what I was looking for. I told her I was not picky. Next thing I know I have a beer and a plate of Stuffed shells, cucumber salad and one the best Anti-pasta I have ever had. The shells were also delicious and the two bartenders found me a nice Stout from here in Montana. Folks, this is the hospitality I can only hope for when I arrive in a new location. I believe they call her Mamma (Air Force Veteran). So, thank you Mamma for your wonderful WELCOMING! From this Arm Vet to you, much love and appreciation.
