Genghis Grill - Englewood

When my actual server finally returned, I asked for to-go containers. He brought them and handed me the check, then just stood there staring at me while I packed my food. I mentioned that I was paying in cash, and he seemed bothered by it, continuing to watch me as I finished boxing my food. I told him I would get the money in a moment, but he insisted he couldn’t leave until I paid. I was taken aback and called the manager over. The manager explained that because they have had too many customers walk out without paying, they now have a policy that requires servers to stay until the bill is paid. I found this situation uncomfortable; no one likes to be stared at or rushed while trying to pay. I pointed out that I hadn’t even asked for the bill, so I wasn’t prepared, and I certainly didn’t appreciate having someone hovering over me while I got my money. It’s unfair to treat all customers like potential thieves because of a few bad experiences. This approach will drive guests away. Assuming I would skip out on the bill reflects poorly on the business. As someone who understands the service industry, I did leave a tip despite the uncomfortable situation. I hope that the server, Mr. Jesus, has a better experience in the future and develops his skills in customer service. Additionally, I would encourage the restaurant to reconsider this policy and perhaps ensure that there is always a host available to check in with guests. This way, issues like walkouts or dine-and-dash incidents can be avoided. Thank you, and have a blessed day.

The food here is delicious, and the service from the waiter was excellent. However, the tables are quite cramped and situated too closely together. The biggest issue, though, is that the prices have skyrocketed. I used to get a large bowl to take some leftovers home, but now that bowl costs $25. I also feel like the size of the bowl for the buffet has gotten smaller. Overall, I would rate the food a 5 out of 5.

Just a heads up: you assemble all of your chosen ingredients in a bowl and hand it over to the chef, who stir-fries everything to perfection. It was an incredible meal! The margaritas were also delightful, and from what I could observe, all the cocktail options at the bar looked fantastic, as the restaurant was bustling with patrons. Genghis Grill is clearly a popular spot for a reason. The staff adheres to all social distancing guidelines, which is reassuring. I highly recommend Genghis Grill; you definitely won’t be disappointed!

This was my first time actually standing in line and ordering food, and I wasn't sure what to do. However, the staff were incredibly helpful. The manager was very kind and assisted me the whole time. I will definitely return to this location. The staff was great, the service was fast, and the food was amazing!
