The meat was tender and flavorful and the crispy skin was heavenly! Rice and beans were on point and the beef cheese empanada was great. They know what they're doing and I'll definitely be stopping by again to explore their menu further.
I get food here frequently and it's high time I did a review. Somehow La Isla manages to exceed my expectation each and every time I order, the food is great, and I highly suggest getting a roasted pork meal. The food is amazing, they have the best beef and cheese empanada in town.
La Isla is a great spot for authentic Puerto Rican Dominican cuisine. The food is consistently good, generous portions and fair prices. Don’t let the bleak ambience deter you, the dining area is clean, the owners friendly, and the food delicious.Vegetarian options: Vegetarians can get a delicious plate of rice, beans, and tostones maduros (plantains).
We ordered through GrubHub and it's our first time... absolutely delicious
AS A PUERTORICAN I AM OFFENDED. The pernil was dry and had NO FLAVOR. The empanadas were unflavored and saturated in grease. The rice was also dry and lacked flavor. Will not be eating here again EVER.
