Hui Lau Shan - Elmhurst

Finding good and authentic Hong Kong-style desserts can be a challenge, so I was thrilled to discover that Hui Lau Shan has opened in the neighborhood. Their menu features a great selection of options. I ordered the Mango Mochi and Taro Paste, both of which were delicious. The Mango Mochi isn't overly sweet, making it a perfect choice for someone like me who doesn't have a strong sweet tooth. I especially recommend the Taro Paste; it was absolutely delightful! I expected it to be very sweet, but it turned out to be mildly sweet and wonderfully creamy. The purple yam was simply perfect—so good that I didn’t feel guilty indulging since it’s healthy! The space may look small, but it’s actually quite spacious with plenty of seating. I also heard they open late at night, so I’ll definitely be bringing my friends back soon!

It's surprising to discover this restaurant here, and even more surprising that it doesn't seem very popular or crowded. The interior is spacious and comfortable. If you find yourself here, I highly recommend stopping by to try their taro balls and sweet potato balls. It's a decent place overall.

I’m thrilled to see such a fantastic dessert place open in my neighborhood, @ELMHURST! The decor is charming, and the desserts are absolutely delicious—especially if you love mangoes! I highly recommend it!

If you love Mangos, this is the place for you! Everything on the menu has mangos in it. This is the mango and the masculinity yoly. It was pretty thick when we got it first, but it started to melt a little in our hands, so it was easier to drink. It is a subtle sweet and very refreshing.

Let me start by stating that I'm usually no desert fanatics but this place might just be the place that flips me for one. Was in the area this past weekend and my girlfriend wanted to pop in for some mango, the bright and cute decoration caught her eyes. We ordered the Durian Pancake and Mango snack sampler, all were really good!! The mango was fresh cut, hand made and prepared, spacious seating in the back was comfy, and the walls with cute mango LED lights were perfect for keeping my girlfriend busy with Instagram selfies :D Overall, a great place to visit! Highly recommend.
