Fred's Place - Elmhurst

I have dined at this restaurant for many years. The food is absolutely amazing. Every time I am in the area, I make sure to visit Fred's for breakfast.

I called ahead to order a breakfast sandwich with a side of hash browns to-go before work. When I arrived, the staff informed me that the order was almost ready, but I had to wait and watch as they only just started preparing my food. Despite having placed my order 15 minutes prior, the service was lacking and the sandwich and hash browns were hastily put together and overpriced. The restaurant was not busy, with only one customer at the bar. Overall, the experience was disappointing and I do not plan on returning.

From the outside it's definitely a truck stop but in the inside the food is definitely good. Thank you Fred and his brother for making this place a success. For some reason pancakes taste better when somebody else is cooking them! But I've never had a badhot cake from Fred's place and now they're starting to serve pumpkin pancakes which he gave me a sample of one today and it wasdelicious!

I did a delivery for Uber there and the cashier/waitress was not skilled at multi-tasking. She botched my customers orders and then had the nerve to get frustrated at me when I was trying to tell her the correct orders. But what I saw there, in thiscustomer service person, is that if you do not have the skill to do the job then look for another job! No offense, just tellingthe plain harsh truth.

The restaurant has a familiar diner vibe. I tried the Gyro and it was delicious. The Tzatziki sauce was also really tasty! It appears to be a popular spot among regular customers.
