Somisomi - Elk Grove

I had a fantastic experience at Somi Somi! As soon as I walked in, the staff greeted me warmly, setting the perfect tone for my visit. The aroma of freshly made soft waffle-like Taiyaki filled the air, making my mouth water in anticipation.What I loved most was the variety of flavors they offered. From classic choices like Cheddar and Nutella to more traditional options like Custard and Red Bean, they had something for everyone. I also had the pleasure of trying their limited-time Mint Oreo flavor, which was a delightful surprise.During my visit, it wasn't too crowded, which made everything run smoothly. The combination of friendly staff, delicious Taiyaki, and a relaxed atmosphere made my trip to Somi Somi truly enjoyable. I can't wait to go back and try more of their flavors!

We saw this when going to dinner and decided to stop by for dessert. We are so happy we did. The place was super cute and not crowded at all. Loved how clean the place looked. The workers were very nice. We got the 5 pack of taiyaki and got 2 custards, 2 Nutella's and 1 Oreo. Then my husband and daughter also got the upside down ahboong cookies n cream. The ice cream was super smooth and creamy. The taiyaki was absolutely delicious! This is our favorite place to go and will be going more often!

This place is fun and the desserts are so yummy and unique. The menu was pretty simple. You can either get fish shaped pastries with fillings such as Nutella and cheddar, or you can get soft serve ice cream in several different flavors with fillings such as Nutella, cheddar, and cookies and cream. If you get soft or ice cream, you also get free toppings such as fruity, pebbles, cereal or matcha powder or Oreo cookie crumbles. The prices are reasonable and the places open, clean, and lots of fun.

I appreciate how spacious the interior is, and the floating tables are a nice touch for those who prefer to stand and enjoy their ice cream inside. It would be fantastic if they could invest in outdoor seating to make the atmosphere even livelier. However, I've encountered sour employees during my last three visits, which detracted from my overall experience. It’s disappointing to see staff members who seem unhappy or frustrated in their roles. I hope they can either coach existing employees or hire new ones who can bring a more enjoyable energy to the place. The experience of eating such unique ice cream should be exciting, and the staff should reflect that enthusiasm as well. Overall, I would give this place a rating of 4 stars!
