Chili's Grill - Elk Grove

I am happy to see that Chili's is nearly back to being fully staffed. After experiencing a skeleton crew during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, it seems the restaurant has regained its footing and is making a strong effort to deliver a great dining experience. I have dined at this Elk Grove location several times and continue to be impressed by the excellent customer service and the high quality of the food.

Our server seemed to ignore us while we waited nearly an hour and fifteen minutes for our dishes to arrive. When I finally pointed out that I hadn't received my soup, she brought me a cup instead of the bowl I had ordered, yet still charged us for the bowl. Throughout the meal, she gave better attention to the table next to us, frequently passing by without acknowledging my fiancé and me. I can understand if the restaurant is understaffed, but it's disappointing to feel neglected and forgotten at a table.

We were seated promptly, but unfortunately, the booth had a large tear running down the seat. We ordered our food an hour ago and are still waiting for our entrees. So far, we've only received our drinks and appetizers, which did come out quickly. The restaurant isn't busy at all, with plenty of empty tables available. I haven't seen our waiter since he dropped off the second plate of chips, and at this pace, I might be full before the main courses even arrive.

First time going to this chilis here in Elk Grove. At first when I got there, I had to wait there at the front door for about 5-10min and had to ask someone there who could sit us. They workers didn't seem like they wanted tot be there at all. Which Iget it because it was towards the end of the night. Finally after about 15 minutes of waiting they said it is. Had to waitanother 10 minutes before somebody came to our table to get us started with drinks. Shut out to our waitress Damien. He waspretty much one of the only waiters there that did his job thoroughly and at the best he could while serving my table and aparty of 12 and about two other tables. All the other waiters there were really slow/ sluggish and really weren't doing much.Seen more talking then cleaning towards the end of the night. Damien our waiter, really seemed like even though it was a longnight he really made us feel welcome and even though we might not have gotten everything exactly on time he made sure to have itthere for us. Food was really good though.

The reason for the 4 stars? The wait time for your order to be taken is pretty long. The time for the appetizers to come to our table once ordered was very long. Upside our waitress was very attentive and always had a smile on. Super friendly andaccommodating. Food was alright nothing stands out as great but on the other hand nothing was bad. All in all I Would honestlyonly come back if my options were limited.
