Ratio - Elgin

I don't care for Ratio, the portions are small, the taste is not what it should be for how much the bill is. I go only if friends are meeting there, but just on my own it's just not special enough.

Nick’s service was incredible was knowledgeable about the drinks and dishes. Food was delicious our favorites were the Mahi dish, watermelon salad, pork belly, and the peaches and cream dessert. Will be back again soon!

On our first visit, everything we ordered was either very good or great. We ate every bit of everything we ordered and then shared two desserts. We returned to Ratio several weeks later, after a disappointing meal at a different restaurant, to get dessert. We sat at the bar and chatted with the bartender, who—if I understood correctly—runs (perhaps owns also? the place. He took our order for a couple of desserts (we opted for the same two as we did on our first visit , they arrived in what seemed to be mere nanoseconds, and they were every bit as delicious as the first time we tried them. We had a nice chat with the bartender about the restaurant and how much we had enjoyed our previous visit. We are looking forward to returning soon!

The food was delicious, service was above average and atmosphere was decent. Prices are high for the amount of food you get but that is kind of the point of the restaurant. Would recommend for a date night.
