Mi Casa Latina - Elgin

Incredible hidden gem! The food was authentic and we definitely plan on returning soon.

I had the pleasure of visiting Mi Casa Latina for the first time on Tuesday, and I personally tried the birria tacos. They were crispy and flavorful, with plenty of meat packed inside. While I could have used a bit more cheese, the overall taste was delicious. The owner assured me that everything is fresh daily, and I could definitely taste the freshness in the salsa, which is usually not my thing. Despite it being lunchtime, the restaurant was nice and quiet. They serve lunch from 11-3, and I also enjoyed a refreshing mango drink. Additionally, they have a selection of spirits available. The owner is very sweet, and I hope to visit again soon!

It took the cashier about 20 minutes to figure out how to print the bill and when they finally gave it to me, it was blank. The food was very disappointing, lacking flavor. We ordered for 3 people and none of us enjoyed anything about the meals. The portion sizes were also very small. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant and we will not be returning. I suggest supporting local businesses or families instead. San Jose Elgin is a much better option.

New owner is passionate to make authentic aromen and traditional possibilities. they were open ostern Sunday, eating was amazing, staff is friendly, prices are appropriate. it is the new way to find authentic food.

Super impressed! The food is outstanding! Extremely friendly staff as well! I will be driving back to Elgin a lot more often!! Might be my new favorite Mexican restaurant.
