Blaney's Backyard Grille - Elgin

Wish this place could be better. We need a great little pub downtown. But the food was very greasy, chicken tasted like old fish from the dirty fry grease. There is not much on the menu that isn’t fried in the dirty fry grease either. We had a large party and many of us didn’t finish or barely touch our meals. No offers to resolve issues from the server. Even upon explaining that the chicken was bad- the server did nothing. No remakes, no credits on the bill- nothing. Service was ok. Food was not on par for the almost $200 we spent. We won’t be back.

I used to work there I was the grill chef the place is nasty overall the food may look and taste good but the kitchen area hasn’t been cleaned in years omg I tried but I couldn’t eat there and I quit it’s way to nasty in the kitchen

I will start off by saying the food here is always great. The kitchen does an awesome job preparing the wings, the burgers and appetizers. The service on the other hand is never good. I have eaten in this restaurant twice and both times the service was slow and borderline rude. This past time the waitress came up to our table and didn't even greet us. She walked up and said what do yall want to drink in a rude tone. We had to flag her down every time we wanted to ask for something or to get refills. She didn't check on us at all unless we flagged her down for something. At the end she literally threw the bill on the table and walked away and yet again we had to flag her down to pay. When we gave her a cash tip of 20% then she all of a sudden became attentive asking if we needed togo cups or boxes. Perhaps she judged us thinking we wouldn't tip well at first but seeing as we are also service industry we always leave 20% even if it isn't deserved. Your establishment definitely needs better servers. From now on we'll stick to togo.

Recently moved to the city and pass by Blaneys regularly. Finally, the opportunity to stop for dinner and it was by far the best culinary experience I had in a very long time! April was our server and she did a phenomenal job! The feeling I had reminded me very much of dinner in a friendhouse. My friend and I had both wings. The food was not disappointed. We are back safely. Thanks for a wonderful culinary experience.

We went to Blaney's Backyard Grille today. The place was clean, the food was really good, and the server Dante was very pleasant. The price was great. There were six of us. None of us had a complaint. My husband, I divided 10 wings, my were Tai Chilli, his were 5 Kajun hot, I got sweet potatoes, he got raw friars. My husband said he liked my Tai Chilli wings better. We both enjoyed the wings fries. My father ordered 10 wings, 5 Teriyaki 5 Teriyaki hot raw pommes, he also enjoyed his. My mother ordered a chicken sandwich with raw frits, her meal was also very good. The husband of my sister ordered 10 lemon pepper wings raw fries, which he also enjoyed his meal. My sister ordered fish Taco's sweet potatoes that they enjoyed as we. But she said she wished she had sworn about the fish tacos instead of salad tomatoes. When the cook came and asked our table, how was everything. My sister told her about the in-law about the fish Tacos and the cook thought it was a good idea. Great time with family great food.
