Chico's Cantina - Elburn

So, I have a love hate relationship with Chico's. The food is solid... but so many times I've walked in and waited 5-10 minutes for service at the counter. Other times, they are locked up in the middle of the day. With the open sign on. Once I actually walked in, rang the bell, saw the door was propped open in back so I waited and waited... my wife wanted tacos. Eventually I got worried and called the non-emergency number. Thought maybe the guy had a grabber in back... cops checked on the place and found no one there. Grills hot, salsa out, music on... just empty. I just want consistancy!

Awesome!! Be understanding if they don't answer first or second time!! Its worth the wait and the owner called me back as soon as he was done with another customer! They are good people and the food is amazing!! We highly recommend tho place and will always return!! Thanks Chico's for GREAT authentic food everytime!!!

We recently had burrito suizo and were dismayed that we could not put our own hot sauce on. They were served in a very thin sauce on top of very thin foil. The foil tore when trying to cut into the burrito's and I ended up with foil in my throat. I've had much better authentic Mexican food elsewhere.

First time here and the food is great! Good portion. Authentic. He do not accept credit cards and do not serve alcohol but don't let that stop you. Very impressed and the owner is very nice. I had fajitas and my wife had flautas.

Chico's is a great option for takeout. Having grown up in Texas, I take my Mexican food seriously and don't care for most Mexican food served in the Midwest. Chico's is authentic Mexican. We've enjoyed the tacos, enchiladas, and carne asada.
