Monterreys Mexican Grill - Elba

We had an excellent time at Monterreys. We were heading to the beach and wanted to find a quick and delicious place to eat. This restaurant was perfect. The rice and beans were exceptional, as well as the fajitas. Kid-friendly: We were on our way to the beach with a hungry one-year-old, and even though they were busy, they quickly prepared a kids' meal for him. Service: Excellent. Meal type: Lunch. Price per person: $10-20.

We went to the restaurant tonight, 10/8/23, and overall everything was good except for the nachos locos on rice that my brother's girlfriend ordered. When the dish arrived, it looked fine but when we started mixing it up, we discovered a small bug resembling a gnat or flea. One waiter tried to claim that the bug came in with us, while another waiter said he would remove it. However, when we received the bill, the charge for the dish was still included. At the register, my brother had to ask again for the bug to be removed, and the employee initially claimed he couldn't do it, but eventually took it off. Additionally, we noticed that both doors to the kitchen were left open from outside. Service: Dine-in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10-20

I ordered nachos without seafood, but they had all chicken and no steak. I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager, who promised to give me the correct order for free if I came in the next day. When I followed up the next day, the manager reneged on his offer and only offered a 10% discount instead. I declined and stated that I would not be spending my money there again. Overall, the service, meal type (take out), atmosphere, and food all received a rating of 1. Price per person was $10-20.

Best Mexican food around.. and the staff are very friendly people.. Parking: Plenty of room for everyone. Kid-friendliness: They always have kid opinions on the menu.. I had a great experience at this restaurant! The service was lacking a bit, but I understand as we were a group of 4. It was a bit frustrating that two of us were served while the other two had to wait for their food. I hope they work on improving their service. Despite this, I would still go back.
