The Hatch Rotisserie

Food was OK, definitely overpriced. Prime rib is absolutely not worth the $70. They also charged me an additional $20 on top of the tip I authorized, so I had to open a dispute with my credit card company. Only redeeming factor was that the drinks were excellent.TLDR: go for the drinks, not the food. Watch your credit card statement afterwards.

Honestly one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. Would give 0 stars if I could. The waitress was very hostile and rude. They were out of half of the menu. The burger was over cooked and tasteless. I have no idea why this place is so highly recommended-definitely eat elsewhere in Paso Robles. There are so many other amazing restaurants!

We were a party of five, three order chicken, one fish, I ordered a burger. As plates were served I was thinking how unappetizing all looked.. my burger was medium, not medium rare, served with a pile of cold and dry potato chips (wherever they came from did not belong on my plate) I asked for ketchup did not help a taste…Since I was a guest, I did not complain… after finishing a burger(I wish I did not) I asked for a glass of white wine. It was served lukewarm, I told to a waiter, he took a glass and brought back a glass that was hardly cooled by a shake of ice cubes with the same darn lukewarm wine….again, because I was a guest I did not complain again.Out of five of us at the table except for my plate piled with potato chips, all other plates were returned almost as full as served. By the way, mushrooms were horrible…our host kindly paid the bill with no word said. However our party agreed to exclude The Hatch from a list of restaurants worth visiting.

The service was great and the food was good. The space is small so the tables are really close together; you could reach over and get something from your neighbors' plates. The table/chair height was a little awkward for me and had some issues eating but it's not the restaurant's fault I'm short. Overall, the place was good but I don't know if we'll go back.

Original plans fell thru and tried to just walk up without a reservation. Very friendly hosts. Got a spot at the bar. Great atmosphere. Loved the music .... classic rock. Bartenders were very attentive. Very good food. Might stay away from the chili? Was a cold evening and that sounded perfect, but it really was just ranch beans....Great seasonings, but no chili. Definitely would go back.
