I Heart Boba - El Monte

I'm really glad that place closed down. The customer service from the young girls was terrible, especially the way they made you wait outside as if you were a dog. The drinks were good, but the service left a lot to be desired.

The brown sugar boba milk latte (with 25% sweetness) was definitely the standout of my order, while the matcha was a bit bland and the sesame milk wasn’t very impressive. Overall, we felt reasonably satisfied, but my family had some critiques, and the boba was just average. I would rate it 3 out of 5 stars.

This was my first and last visit to this restaurant. The customer service was decent, but the drink I ordered was surprisingly unpleasant—it tasted like spoiled milk. It also had far more ice than actual liquid. After paying $6 for what was basically a medium-sized drink mostly filled with ice, I felt ripped off. There was nothing special about the drink either.

The photos of this place feel really misleading. I came here expecting to be able to sit down and enjoy some tea for a bit, but this place is still acting like it 's 2020. There 's a tiny blocked off space in the entryway with plexiglass where you order. No one greets you, just stand there awkwardly until someone notices you 're there (odd when youre the only customer there and the door chimes when you walk in or you realize theres a small sign that says to ring bell when ready to order . Then there 's boxes all over the blocked off seating area like it 's a storage unit now.Once I ordered, I was told to go back outside and walk around to the other side of the store where they would call my name when it was ready. It 's just so odd to me that in the fall of 2022 a business is still operating like this. I know everyone has different comfort levels with covid and that 's fine, but if that 's the case I feel like the Google listing should accurately represent the real space. I wouldn 't have come all the way here if I knew the seating area wasn 't available.Other than all of this, the drink I ordered was indeed very good. I had the mango lychee oolong and it was fantastic. Not overly sweet, very balanced and flavorful. Wish I could 've been able to sit down and enjoy it more :

The waffles here are amazing!!! Never had anything like it before but now I am hooked!!!
