Prasek's Family Smokehouse - El Campo

One of the best perks of visiting family in the area is getting the chance to stop by Prasek's. I've been making it a point to visit since it was just a small store and gas station. I absolutely love their smoked meats and the fantastic variety of jams, jellies, and relishes. If they haven't sold out, be sure to try their amazing kolaches!

We can’t help but stop at Prasek's every time we pass by. On some trips to Houston, we even make two stops—once on the way there and again on the way back. They offer delicious BBQ as well as amazing meats and baked goods. My personal favorite is the chocolate chewy cookie, while my husband loves the coconut cake (which is only available on Thursdays and Fridays). The restrooms are spotless and offer privacy, making this place even better than Buc-ee's, especially since the food is superior!

During my travels, I made a stop here and was pleased to find the restroom clean. The restaurant itself is tidy, featuring a lovely fish tank and decorative mounts. I tried a variety of dishes, including the pre-seasoned chicken quarters, pork steak, summer sausage, quail stuffed with jambalaya, and boudin filled with crawfish from the market side. Everything was of excellent quality and well-seasoned. It's a fantastic place to stop between Houston and Corpus Christi.

I'll stick with Bucees in Wharton. Better food, more restrooms, cleaner restrooms, better service, no long lines at the cash registers. Location needs updating and better layout to handle customer flow. I understand this is a long standing communityfavorite. With a little attention, it could still be that and handle customers from the ever-increasing traffic flow on thehighway as well.

I did not realize that this is listed as a restaurant. I thought it was a Fantastic convenience store. Like a Four Seasons convenience store! An amazing place to stop and refresh. I loved the shopping inside. I highly recommend!!!!
