We then ordered prawn paella, which came with 2 small prawn with out the shell) not what I was expecting for a restaurant serving fresh seafood. Would not return unfortunately. I would travel into the next city.
It is still a lovely spot but the service was in difficulty on a relatively quiet weekday lunchtime. About 20 minutes to get a menu and a further 10 for a drink. We ordered an arroz and a salad. Understandably and as we expected the rice took time to cook but the salad and the promised bread and Ali-oli didn’t arrive for ages. The arroz a Banda was delicious. Further delays getting another drink. Some angry customers too. They really need to sort out their service so it gets back to being a great place again.
This family run beachside restaurant is tucked away in the pine trees in the central area of La Coveta Fuma, near El Campello. It looks unremarkable but serves great arroces and fish simply prepared. Popular with watersports enthusiasts from the bay nearby, there were 70+ people having lunch the day I popped in. A simple green salad and excellent grilled squid with garlic and parsley washed down with a glass of chilled sangria is hard to beat on a hot August day. Plenty of shade from the trees and a proper inside dining room too. They also open some evenings but only by reservation.
We went here with friends for lunch and was not disappointed. The food was beautiful, in fact we ordered more as it was so nice. The lady that served us was very friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to go back.
Not easy to find. Situated in the bay of la coveta fuma. Paella must be ordered in advance. Very tasteful. Also the sepia plancha and sardines are wonderful. The sangria is a mean one! Not made from a bottle of don Simon but made from scratch! Worth a visit
